Northeast’s Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Recognized at Regional Conference
The Phi Theta Kappa chapter at Northeast Mississippi Community College was honored with several awards at the Mississippi-Louisiana Regional Conference, according to college officials.
Afton Reynolds received the Golden Key Award, while Anna Slack was recognized with the Distinguished Officer Award. Several advisors — Ray Harris, Robbie Jones, Andrea Mathis, Jessica Morris, and Justin Treloar — received Horizon Advisor Awards.
The chapter also earned the 5-Star Chapter Award, its 24th consecutive year to do so, which is the highest ranking possible. In addition, the college project team took second place, and the Honors in Action Award was awarded fifth place. The chapter was also recognized with the Honors in Action Theme 4 Award for “Preserving Stories” and finished third in the Most Distinguished Chapter category, officials said.
College officials expressed pride in the PTK members and advisors for their dedication and leadership. The college continues a tradition of academic achievement and service excellence, they added.
