Police Warn Residents About Local Scam Artists
Police Chief Michael Ramey is warning residents to stay alert for scam artists operating in the area. He said some individuals may be making phone calls or going door-to-door offering cleanup services and charging inflated prices for debris removal.
Ramey advised residents to report any suspicious activity to police. When reporting, residents should gather available information, including names, phone numbers, and the city in Mississippi where the individuals are registered. If the scammers are not registered, residents are instructed to visit Booneville City Hall for assistance.
The police chief emphasized the importance of caution and urged residents to verify the credentials of anyone offering services before handing over money or allowing access to their property.
