Officials emphasize that legitimate agencies will never contact individuals to inform them of warrants or fines and will not ask for personal information or payments over the phone. They advise disconnecting from these calls immediately if targeted.
Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and not provide any personal or financial information to unknown callers. Anyone who receives such calls is encouraged to report them to local law enforcement.
