Prentiss County deputies arrest man on meth charges during checkpoint

Prentiss County deputies conducted a checkpoint on March 14, 2026, according to sheriff’s officials.

During the operation, Deputy Ethan Hester arrested Maurice Miller, 46, of Booneville, on charges of driving with a suspended license and a municipal warrant.

Miller was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine, authorities said. He is being held in the county jail with bond set at $5,000 by Prentiss County Justice Court Judge Craig Bishop.

North Mississippi Narcotics Agent Grady Smith will present the case to the next grand jury, officials added.
