Severe thunderstorms expected across the Mid-South this evening

Forecasters predict a rise in thunderstorm activity across the Mid-South over the next hour. Discrete supercells are forming ahead of a cold front moving eastward, according to the National Weather Service.

The environment is conducive to severe weather, including damaging winds exceeding 75 mph, brief tornadoes, and large hail, meteorologists said. The storms are expected to intensify as they develop.

Residents are advised to stay alert and take safety precautions as the weather situation evolves. Authorities continue to monitor the storms and will issue updates as necessary.
