Tornado Watch Issued for Multiple States in the South and Midwest

The National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee, issued a tornado watch for parts of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee.

The watch is in effect until 11 p.m. CDT, according to a NWS statement.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay alert for severe weather conditions and to have a plan in place in case of tornado development.

Officials continue to monitor weather patterns and will provide updates as necessary.
