Dobbs Releases New Number of Students and Teachers Quarantined
In a press conference held by Tate Reeves regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, State Health Official Dr. Thomas Dobbs released an update on cases in the Mississippi school system.
This past week, 138 teachers and 280 students tested positive for the novel coronavirus. This number does not reflect the amount quarantined due to close contact as well.
The entire number of individuals quarantined due to positive cases or close contacts sits at 532 teachers and 3,730 students.
There have been twenty-one classified outbreaks at different schools across Mississippi.
Many schools have returned to face-to-face instruction to some extent; however, most schools that have not plan to do so after the Labor Day holiday.
