Highway Patrol Ends Christmas Enforcement Period

The Mississippi Highway Patrol’s annual Christmas enforcement period has now ended and produced a massive amount of tickets and arrests.

The MHP issued 5,898 citations with 130 DUI arrests over the period.

In addition, 201 motor vehicle crashes were investigated that resulted in 38 injuries and four fatalities on state and federal roads.

The highway patrol will continue to push the “Home for the Holidays” safety initiative through the end of the year to promote traffic safety.
