Kroger to Mandate Masks for Customers Nationwide
Following Walmart’s announcement yesterday, Kroger has also announced they will be requiring masks in their stores nationwide.
The mandate will go into effect Wednesday, July 22nd. Kroger already require customers to wear masks in stores with local mask mandates.
This is one of a few changes Kroger has put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They announced last week that customers would no longer be receiving coin change when paying in cash. Instead, change will be applied to their Kroger customer cards to be used at their next visit.
However, change will still be given at self-check out stations, according to a Kroger spokesperson.
While this measure could potentially help curb the spread of the coronavirus, it also is a response to the nationwide coin shortage that has left many businesses unable to distribute change.
