Meridian Murder Suspect Captured After Escaping Police Custody
On Friday evening, October 18, 2024, a murder suspect in Meridian escaped police custody. He was captured later after a search utilizing K-9 units to track him hiding under a house.
Jamir Wilson was able to escape police custody around 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening. A search for Wilson was immediately launched by Meridian Police officers, who used K-9 units to help locate the suspect. The K-9 was able to track Wilson concealing himself under a house in the 300 block of 23rd Avenue South, and he was taken back into police custody.
According to Queen City Newsfeed, Wilson is currently in police custody as he is connected to the murder of Marquel Holcombe. Holcombe, age 32, was killed following a shooting incident that occured at around 2:00 a.m. on August 12th, 2024, at the intersection of 40th Avenue and Paulding Street.
Holcombe was treated at a local hospital prior to being airlifted to a Jackson hospital, where she succumbed to injuries sustained in the shooting.
