Multiple Arrests Made in Booneville Shooting That Sent Child To Hospital
Booneville, Miss. — Authorities have announced several arrests following a shooting earlier this month on Brewer Street that left a child injured.
On August 4, 2025, around 10 p.m., Booneville Police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on Brewer Street. A child was struck during the incident and later transported to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. The child has since been treated and released, according to investigators.
Detectives located the suspect vehicle in Lee County, and multiple individuals have since been taken into custody.
- David Price, 42, of Baldwyn – Arrested on August 11 and charged with accessory after the fact and tampering with physical evidence. His bond was set at $75,000 by Booneville Municipal Court Judge Greg Meyer.
- Octravis Jamal Burress, 24, of Booneville – Arrested on August 13 at a residence in the Sunflower Housing complex. He faces three counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, shooting into a motor vehicle, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. Judge Greg Meyer ordered Burress to be held without bond.
- Xavier Montez Price, 27, of Booneville – Turned himself in on August 13 and was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony (aggravated assault). His bond was set at $250,000 by Judge Meyer.
- A 16-year-old male suspect – Taken into custody on August 22 off Bridge Street. Charged as an adult with eight counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and shooting into an occupied dwelling. Circuit Court Judge John R. White set his bond at $50,000 on August 26.
- Traveon Letrell Miller, 22, of Baldwyn – Apprehended in Wake County, North Carolina, on August 26 with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service. He faces multiple violent felony charges, including eight counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and shooting into an occupied dwelling. He awaits extradition back to Booneville.
Authorities say the investigation remains active and additional arrests are expected.
