Northeast Mississippi Community College honors Robert Henry with Hall of Fame award
Northeast Mississippi Community College presented the MACCC Sports Hall of Fame award to former Tiger linebacker Robert Henry in a campus ceremony. Henry was unable to attend the induction in April, when the award was originally announced.
Henry played for Coach Bill Ward’s 1972-73 teams and earned Defensive MVP honors as a linebacker. He was the only freshman selected to the MACJC All-State Team during his time at Northeast, according to college officials.
At the April induction ceremony, Northeast President Dr. Ricky Ford and Henry’s longtime friend and former coach Andy Greening accepted the award on his behalf. Henry has since built a 35-year coaching career at various levels, including stops at Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Tennessee, SMU, Baylor, Wyoming, UAB, Henderson State and West Alabama.
Northeast officials congratulated Henry on the recognition, noting his lasting impact both on and off the field.
