Mississippi declares state of emergency over Coronavirus
Governor Tate Reeves issued a state of emergency decleration on Saturdy for Mississippi.
From Reeves:
Taking proactive measures to limit community spread of COVID-19, I have declared a state of emergency to deploy the necessary resources to protect public health and take care of all Mississippians.
This is our latest step to respond, and it will not be our last. We will continue coordinating our response efforts and prioritizing the health and well-being for all who call Mississippi home.
This follows President Trump issing a national state of emergency on Friday.
Several school districts, athletcis and church services are cancelling events throughout the state as well.
