Corinth High School Student Killed in Monday Morning Crash
A student at Corinth High School, Callie Pounders, was tragically killed in a car accident on the morning of Monday, November 4th, 2024.
According to WTVA, Sheriff Ben Caldwell stated that the accident occurred on County Road 408. Pounders’s vehicle went off the road, which led her to overcorrect and collide with a tree. She passed away at Magnolia Regional Health Center, according to WTVA.
Corinth High School Principal John Barnett released a statement through Corinth School District Monday morning. His statement read, “We are heartbroken by this loss, and we grieve with the student’s family and friends. We will have counselors available in the Commons to help our students and staff today and the remainder of the week.
In times like these, we must continue to come together and support each other as the Corinth community. At this time, we are respecting the family’s privacy and their time to grieve.
If there is something we can do to assist the family as a community, we will communicate that information to you.We are deeply saddened by this loss and will make every effort to continue to look after and care for one another.”
