Day 5 update on missing child: timeline of disappearance established as authorities searching lakes around property

We were on the scene today of the child that went missing from an Alcorn County boys home late last week. After interviewing family, those at the scene and authorities we have a more thorough understanding of the sequence of events.

Nathan Covarrubias was last seen around 10 am on 5/29/20 leaving the Summits View Boys Ranch in Walnut, Mississippi. He weighs 150-170 lbs and is about 5’6” and will be 15 years old in July. Nathan was last seen wearing a blue long sleeve shirt and khaki pants.

From there, we know that the facility contacted authorities in Alcorn County around 7 p.m., according to the Alcorn County Sheriffs Department. The father, Edgar Covarrubias, was contacted at 9:30 pm on Friday at his home in Fort Worth, Texas.

Nathan is diagnosed with autism, disruptive mood dysregulation, and bipolar disorder. He is on numerous medications for his diagnosed disorders which he presumably hasn’t had since Friday.

The search effort on Tuesday had multiple agencies checking lakes and ponds near the property where he went missing.

Tippah County deputy Jeremy Rainey had the following plea for local residents:

Any people living in the surrounding area of the boys ranch if you have any trail cameras in the woods or any security cameras around your property I ask you to please review your cameras starting at 05/29/2020 around 10am to see if Nathan may be on camera. Thank you in advance for your help. Any information please the local law enforcement.
