Snow accumulations possible in Alcorn Co. as NWS warns of slick roads
Snow accumulations are likely with temperatures at or under freezing throughout North MS, according to the National Weather Service.
From the NWS:
With temperatures hovering at 32F, some accumulation on overpasses may begin. At the very least, they will be slick. Please slow down and use caution, especially on overpasses
A mixture of rain and snow will transition to snow over north
central and northeast Mississippi, and portions of west Tennessee
near the Tennessee River.
Up to an an inch of snow accumulation will be possible, mainly
on grassy areas and elevated surfaces.
With afternoon temperatures a few degrees above freezing, and
relatively warm ground, roads should remain wet. As temperatures
fall below freezing through late evening, any residual moisture on
bridges may freeze, creating slick spots for motorists.
After a cold start to the day Wednesday, temperatures will warm
into the 40s, under sunny skies.
