When you can expect to get your stimulus payment if you haven’t gotten it yet

Many people have received their stimulus checks. Many more are still waiting. If you are one of the ones still waiting, the following article breaks down when you can expect yours to arrive.

If your correct direct deposit information was included on your 2018 or 2019 federal tax return, you should have received your stimulus money. The IRS is now working on sending out paper checks, of which approximately 5 million will be sent out next week.

Stimulus money is not sent out randomly. The first payments were sent out to individuals who have the lowest annual gross income reported on their 2018 and 2019 federal tax return. Below is the planned weekly schedule for stimulus check send-outs:

The IRS has created an online portal titled “Get My Payment” on its website where you can track your payment. You can also enter into direct deposit information if needed, or to ensure that your mailing address is listed correctly. If you encounter a “Payment Status Not Available” message, there could be several options as to why

First, it may be that you do not qualify. If you made over $98,000 as an individual or $198,000 as a joint filer in 2018 or 2019, you do not qualify for a stimulus check.

OR, the IRS may just still be processing your information. If you recently filed a 2018 or 2019 tax return, it’s possible the IRS is still processing your claim before being able to determine whether or not you qualify for a stimulus payment. Also, if you have not been required to file a tax return in the past, and have recently updated your Non-Filer information on the IRS user portal, they could still be processing your information.

Lastly, if you receive Social Security checks, disability checks, veteran’s, or others, the online portal will not give you status information on your stimulus payment.

The IRS website is updated once daily, overnight. Check back each day for updates.

That chart is good, but I filed taxes in 2018 and received a refund direct deposit. I filed taxes for 2019 and broke even. They have my information yet I havent received anything. My husband is on disability and receives SS through direct deposit and didnt get anything either. The IRS website is a joke and there is no one to call.
