Yazoo County Deputies Cut Hole in Apartment Wall to Help Hostages Escape

Two individuals escaped a hostage situation after Yazoo County deputies cut a hole into an apartment wall.

According to WJTV, deputies with Yazoo County were dispatched to Oakhaven apartments due to a call about “unknown trouble.” They traveled to the apartments at around 2:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6th.

Investigators stated that the deputies encountered a man at the apartment complex who was upset. The man stated that he was armed, and was not coming out of the apartment building.

The investigators said that two women were inside the apartment with the man.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol SWAT and Mississippi Bureau of Investigation responded to the scene to assist the Yazoo County deputies.

According to deputies, the two female hostages were able to escape the situation with no injury after deputies cut a hole into the wall of the apartment that adjoined the one where they were being held.

The subject, currently unidentified, was taken into police custody without injury around 11:15 a.m.
