Burglary arrest in Corinth
Burglary Arrest
On 04/13/23 Corinth Police Officers responded to an address on Proper Street regarding a burglary in progress. Officers made contact with a vehicle leaving the area as they arrived on scene and identified the passenger as Montrel Jones. Officers did not have reason at the time to detain anyone in the vehicle so the individuals were allowed to leave.
On 04/28/23 Corinth Police responded to an address on E. 6th Street in reference to a vehicle burglary. Video was obtained and Montrel Jones was identified as the suspect.
Corinth Police Detective Division obtained an arrest warrant for Montrel Jones and he was arrested by Officer Chance Sheppard later that same morning. Detectives interviewed Jones and on 05/01/23 he was also charged with the burglary on Proper Street.
This case will be presented to an Alcorn County Grand Jury.
