Corinth man arrested at school with over pound of marijuana, meth, cocaine

On Wednesday November 2, 2023 at approximately 2:55 pm Alcorn County School Resource Officer, Deputy Darrell Bullard was notified that a guardian was at the Alcorn Central Middle School attempting to check out a student and the individual had a strong odor of Marijuana.

Deputy Bullard located the individual identified as Greg D Sorrell 46 of CR 207 at his vehicle in the parking lot of the middle school.

Deputy Bullard conducted an investigation and discovered Sorrell was in possession of approximately 1.2 pounds of Marijuana, approximately 3 grams of crack cocaine and approximately 21 grams of Meth.

Deputy Bullard also recovered a 22 caliber pistol in the vehicle. Sorrell was transported to the Alcorn County Jail and is being held pending a multitude of charges. The Farmington police department and the MS Bureau of Narcotics assisted in the investigation.

Thanks to the quick response of school staff and Deputy Bullard, Sorrell was quickly detained and no students were in danger. Based on evidence gathered during the investigation there is no reason to suspect Sorrell intended to harm or threaten any student or staff at the school.
