Booneville 6th graders celebrate D.A.R.E. graduation with ceremony and skate party
Booneville Middle School sixth-graders celebrated their graduation from the D.A.R.E. program last Thursday with a ceremony at the school. Fire Inspector Jerius Maxey opened the event with a prayer for guidance.
Sgt. Josh Walden and Officer Jonathan Timbes presented certificates to the students. Several students received recognition for outstanding posters that highlighted what they learned during the program.
Mayor Lori Tucker encouraged students to make safe, smart, and responsible choices and to serve as leaders in their community. Following the ceremony, the students enjoyed a skating party at Skaterz skating rink.
The event was supported by local businesses and organizations, including Langston and Lott, Daniel Tucker Law, Morgan Movers LLC, Travis Childer’s Realty, Greg Beard Law Office, Walmart, Little Caesars Pizza, and Booneville Church of Christ, according to the police department.
