CORINTH, Miss. — The City of Corinth is set to receive approximately $1.4 million in federal funding to help cover debris removal costs associated with recent severe weather and disaster recovery efforts.
The funding is part of more than $13 million announced by the Federal Emergency Management Agency for recovery and mitigation projects across Mississippi.
FEMA said the money will support nine Public Assistance projects aimed at reimbursing communities for expenses related to debris removal, repairs to critical infrastructure and public facilities, emergency protective measures and other disaster-related costs.
Corinth’s $1.4 million allocation is among the largest local awards included in the latest round of funding.
Other projects announced include $9.7 million for the State of Mississippi to cover disaster management costs following a severe winter storm, approximately $576,000 for debris removal in Marshall County and $488,000 for debris removal in Burnsville.
FEMA’s Public Assistance program provides funding to state and local governments following federally declared disasters, helping communities recover while reducing the financial burden of emergency response and cleanup operations.
