Cold front moves south, ending severe thunderstorm threat in the Mid-South
The cold front has moved south of the Mid-South, ending the threat of severe thunderstorms, according to a radar update at 4:20 p.m.
Despite the front’s passage, lingering showers will continue across the region, with elevated thunderstorms expected over northeastern Mississippi for the next few hours, authorities said.
Flash flooding remains the primary concern through early evening. Residents are urged to never drive through flooded roads, officials added.
Meteorologists will continue to monitor the situation as conditions evolve.
