Heat wave expected to persist through midweek, then ease

The ongoing heat wave is expected to continue through the middle of this week, with afternoon heat index values ranging from 105 to 115 degrees, according to weather officials.

Forecasters say temperatures will remain high through Wednesday, prompting concerns about heat-related health risks. However, cooler weather is forecasted to arrive by the weekend, with heat indices dropping below 100 degrees in most areas.

Officials recommend residents stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and check on vulnerable populations during this period of extreme heat.
