Malcolm Reed of Killer Hogs Joins Mississippi Outdoors Podcast

Malcolm Reed of How to BBQ Right and Killer Hogs BBQ appeared on the Mississippi Outdoors Podcast to share his journey in building one of the country’s most recognized barbecue brands.

Reed recounted starting from a trailer in Southaven and using his wife’s kitchen bowls to make seasoning by hand. He described how he transitioned from competitive barbecue in the Memphis area to selling seasoning out of his house after taking a leap of faith with six months of severance pay.

He said Killer Hogs products are now shipped across the United States. Reed also discussed his 140-acre farm in Rankin County, his Buck Junkie channel, and his passion for wild game cooking. He mentioned a bear shank dish served over cheesy shrimp and grits that he described as tasting like the best beef pot roast he’s ever had.
