The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks posted a photo asking followers to identify a tree popular in early spring. The department provided two hints: it is one of the first trees to bloom in Mississippi each year, and its dense wood was historically used for tool handles and golf club heads.
The department plans to reveal the tree’s identity later today in the comments section of the post. The photo was taken by Chris Hutcheson.
Officials did not specify the tree species in the post, encouraging followers to make guesses based on the clues provided.
