The Mississippi Highway Patrol team achieved notable results at Lawfit 2026, earning multiple medals and top placements across various events, according to a post from the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.
In individual events, Tommy Stinson finished third in the men’s bench press, while Julian Wells placed fourth and Mike Brown fifth. Christian Coleman took fourth in the women’s bench press. Chelsey Giles secured first place in the 1.5-mile run with a time of 8 minutes, 35 seconds, and finished fifth in the event for women. Giles also placed fifth in sit-ups, and Coleman finished second in pull-ups.
In pursuit course competitions, Julian Wells and Jason Wells finished second and fifth for men, respectively. Giles and Coleman both placed second in the female pursuit course. The team also performed well in pairs and team events, with Giles and Brown finishing third in mixed pairs, Giles and Coleman taking second in female pairs, and Stinson and Julian Wells earning second in the two-man team event. The four-man team of Stinson, Bowie, Brown, and Julian Wells finished second overall.
Overall, Giles finished second in the female overall standings, while Coleman was fourth. For the men, Julian Wells placed fourth and Tommy Stinson fifth, highlighting the team’s strong showing at the event.
