Mississippi Highway Patrol welcomes 54 new troopers after training
Fifty-four new law enforcement officers graduated from Mississippi Department of Public Safety training after 16 weeks of demanding instruction. The graduates took the oath to serve and protect the people of Mississippi.
Among the graduates, 42 will join the Mississippi Highway Patrol as troopers. Six have been assigned to Capitol Police, two to the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division, and four to the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, according to a department statement.
The department thanked the new officers for their commitment, sacrifice, and dedication. Officials expressed pride in their accomplishments and anticipation of the positive impact they will have on communities across the state.
Congratulations were extended to Class 70, with officials emphasizing that their time to serve has now begun.
