Mississippi Wildlife Agency Offers Education on Chronic Wasting Disease

William McKinley, the Deer Program Coordinator for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, presented an educational overview of chronic wasting disease during a July meeting of the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.

The presentation covered the latest research on CWD, what has been learned about the disease in Mississippi, and how hunters can help protect the state’s deer herd.

Mississippi wildlife officials encourage hunters and the public to view the full recording of the presentation on the MDWFP YouTube channel. The video offers valuable insights into one of the most significant wildlife management issues in the state.
