Mississippi has highest one day total for COVID cases with over 1600 being reported by the MSDH
Today marks the worst day yet for inclining COVID-19 cases in Mississippi. The state reported 1,635 new cases statewide, as well as 31 deaths.
Mississippi’s total cases now stand at 45,524 with 1,389 deaths.
Of these newest cases, 30 are residents are long-term care facilities, with 7 deaths so far. There are currently 154 active outbreaks in long-term care facilities.
Escalating hospitalizations continue to overwhelm the state’s hospitals. 943 Mississippians are currently hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 and 211 more with a suspected case.
