Mississippi ranks second in the nation for the highest car tag fees, according to a report released by State Auditor Shad White.
White’s office analyzed the state’s vehicle registration costs and found that residents pay significantly more than most other states.
In an interview, White discussed possible measures the state could take to lower car tag fees and ease the financial burden on Mississippians. He emphasized the importance of exploring options for fee reduction and reform.
