Tupelo Marine Recruiter Arrested for Sexual Assault
A Tupelo man, employed as a Marine Recruiter, was arrested for sexual assault on September 20, 2024.
According to a press release from Tupelo Police Department, officers took a report of sexual assault, position of trust or authority of a child, on September 5, 2024. This charge referenced a situation in which a person had sexual contact with a minor while in a position of authority.
After more investigation into the matter, on September 20, Tupelo Police officers arrested Brady P. Dean with sexual assault- position of trust or authority of a child.
According to the Daily Journal, the assault was against a 17-year-old female who was interested in enlisting in the military. She reported to Tupelo Police detective Hal Neal that she and Dean had eaten in a Tupelo restaurant, where he provided her with alcohol before taking her back to his residence in a Joyner neighborhood. There, she passed out due to being intoxicated and woke up to the assault.
Dean, 24, of Tupelo, is currently being held without bond on the orders of Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Sumner. The case will be presented to Lee County Grand Jury at a later time.
