Attorney General, police warn of scam where people come to your house to get you to try on a face mask

The Mississippi Attorney General and the Jackson Police warn of a door to door scam involving trying on a mask to prevent coronavirus. They are advising to alert authorities if it happens to you.

From the AG, Lynn Fitch:

Jackson residents: Please read this warning about scammers from the Jackson Police Department. My office will not stand for scamming. If you suspect this is happening, report it by emailing us at webpage@ago.ms.gov or by calling 601-359-3680.

The Warning from JPD read as follows:

Attention: This message comes from Chief James Davis

Apparently there are individuals going to citizens homes asking them to try on mask. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!…..Do not answer your door for individuals asking you to try on mask for protection against the coronavirus. Again THIS IS A SCAM!!!…. Be cautious and be safe. If anyone knocks on your door asking you to try on mask dial 911 immediately.
