Alcorn County School district reports 3 employee cases, 2 student cases

Alcorn County school distrcit reported 3 employee cases and 2 student cases of COVID19 on Thursday after reopening school.

This page is updated as confirmed cases warrant. The Alcorn School District (ASD) regards student and employee health and safety as its highest priorities.

The ASD has followed Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Standards and Guidelines regarding health and safety relating to the COVID-19 Virus, 8/6/2020

Two positive COVID-19 Virus test results have been confirmed in theASD. Two students at Biggersville High School have been diagnosed with the COVID-19 Virus. Close contacts have been notified. It is important to note that neither of these students have attended school this year.

The ASD is following MSDH and CDC Standards and Guidelines as they pertain to these specific issues. Please know that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the health and safety of all ASD students and employees.

The ASD will provide further information regarding the issue if needed. Thank you in advance for your understanding regarding this matter.
