First death at Magnolia related to COVID19 reported by hospital

The first death at MRHC has been reported by the hospital.

From a release on Saturday:

The patient was being treated at MRHC for COVID-19 complications and passed away on Friday, April 3. The patient was originally confirmed as positive for COVID-19 in Tippah County and transferred to MRHC for treatment. Out of respect for the patient and family, the hospital is unable to provide any additional details at this time.  

“Our team mourns the loss of the patient and sends our thoughts and prayers to the family,” says MRHC CEO, Jim Hobson. “We will continue to follow protocols and guidelines provided to us by the CDC and Mississippi State Department of Health to ensure that our patients receive appropriate care.”

Hobson added, “I want to continue to thank our amazing staff on the front lines for the care they continue to provide for our patients and community.”
