Corinth Man Arrested on Burglary Charge After Hiding In Attic of Home
CORINTH – A Corinth man was arrested earlier this month after police say he broke into a local business and later barricaded himself in his home.
Dustin Glidewell, 29, of County Road 619, was taken into custody on Aug. 6 and charged with burglary of a commercial building, according to the Corinth Police Department.
Officers responded around 6:45 a.m. to a burglary alarm at 609 Sawyer Road. When they arrived, they found a rear door forced open and damaged. Surveillance footage helped investigators identify Glidewell as the suspect.
Later that same day, Corinth police, with assistance from the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department, executed a search warrant at Glidewell’s residence at 179 County Road 619. Authorities said Glidewell barricaded himself in the attic before surrendering after negotiations. Detectives recovered items stolen from the business as well as clothing believed to have been worn during the burglary.
Bond was set at $5,000. Glidewell was on parole at the time of his arrest, according to police.
