Corinth police make felony drug arrest after vehicle accident.
From Corinth PD:
On 07/11/23 Detective Oglesby, Detective Suitor, and Lt. Austin responded to a 2 vehicle accident on Hwy 72 near Hwy 2 with a possibly impaired subject. Upon arrival, the subject was identified as Jimmy Smith. Smith had a clear bag of a crystal like substance on his person and a bag of white powder-like substance was found in the vehicle.
Jimmy Smith was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Felony “methamphetamine”, Possession of a Controlled Substance Felony “Cocaine”, DUI other, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Misdemeanor.
The felony case will be presented to an Alcorn County Grand Jury and the misdemeanor cases will be handled in Corinth Municipal Court.
