Corinth police searched a Highway 72 smoke shop on Monday, Oct. 12, and seized items believed to be controlled substances. The search followed a Crime Stoppers tip campaign. The Corinth police search of Mellow Smoke Shop is part of an investigation that remains active, and no arrests had been made as of Tuesday.
Corinth Police Search Warrant at Mellow Smoke Shop
The Corinth Police Department served a search warrant at Mellow Smoke Shop, 1500 Highway 72 East, according to reports from the Daily Corinthian and WTVA. Investigators said the warrant was tied to an investigation into the possession and sale of controlled substances from inside the business.
Police told WTVA the department received multiple tips through Crime Stoppers that controlled substances were being sold from under the counter, a practice sometimes called “brown bagging.” Investigators then made purchases at the store before seeking the warrant, the report said.
