Many residents have noticed the persistent cloud cover over the past few days. Meteorologists say such conditions are typical after a cold front moves through the area.
The cloud layer responsible is known as a stratus deck. These low, uniform clouds often form in the wake of a cold front, creating overcast skies that can last for several days.
Stratus clouds are characterized by their flat, gray appearance and can cover large areas, leading to dull, cloudy weather. Experts recommend checking local forecasts for updates on when clearer skies might return.
