Cocorahs Launches Campaign for Citizen Rain Reporters

The Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) is seeking volunteers to report precipitation data from their locations. The organization emphasizes the importance of accurate rainfall measurements for weather research and forecasting.

Individuals interested in becoming citizen scientists can register at cocorahs.org. Once signed up, they can begin reporting rainfall and other weather observations using rain gauges and simple reporting tools.

CoCoRaHS officials say that community participation helps improve the quality of local weather data. The initiative aims to engage residents in scientific observation and foster a better understanding of weather patterns.

The campaign is part of the #RainGaugeRally effort to promote widespread participation. Organizers encourage anyone interested to join and contribute valuable data to the national weather network.
