Deputy Jason Gray, who serves as the School Resource Officer at Michie Elementary School, is hospitalized and in the intensive care unit, according to a statement from the department.
Gray is described as a dedicated officer and a familiar, trusted figure for students and staff at the school. The department asked the community to keep Gray and his family in their thoughts and prayers during this time.
Officials said they will provide updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, they expressed appreciation for the community’s support and well-wishes.
