Heat Wave and Thunderstorm Risk Expected in Mid-South

Most of the Mid-South is expected to experience dangerous heat this afternoon, with heat index values rising above 105 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tennessee.

Additionally, there is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms late Thursday afternoon and evening. Damaging winds are the primary threat associated with these storms, the agency said.
