Marginal risk of severe storms issued for parts of Arkansas and Mississippi

A marginal risk for severe storms has been issued for parts of east-central Arkansas and northern Mississippi, according to the National Weather Service.

A complex of storms is expected to move into the area later this afternoon. Damaging winds are expected to be the main threat from the storms, the agency said.

Officials advised residents to stay alert and prepare for possible severe weather conditions as the storms develop.
