Storm Prediction Center issues slight risk for severe storms in parts of Arkansas and surrounding areas

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a slight risk, or level 2 out of 5, for severe thunderstorms on Tuesday in northeast Arkansas, the Missouri Bootheel, and far West Tennessee, according to a news release.

A marginal risk, level 1 out of 5, has been issued for areas to the east. Forecasters say large hail and damaging winds would be the primary threats if storms reach severe limits.

The forecast confidence is medium-low, with the main window for severe weather expected on Tuesday afternoon and evening, the center said.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay alert for updates and prepare for potential severe weather conditions.
