MEMA honors fallen service members on Memorial Day

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) marked Memorial Day by honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. The agency held a ceremony to recognize their sacrifice and commitment to national security.

Officials emphasized the importance of remembering those who gave their lives in service to the country. MEMA director Greg Michel called the day a solemn occasion to reflect on the sacrifices made by service members.

Memorial Day events across Mississippi included ceremonies at cemeteries and memorials, where families and veterans gathered to pay tribute. Authorities urged residents to observe the day with respect and gratitude for those who served and died for American freedom.
