Mississippi braces for severe weather through midweek
The National Weather Service has issued an enhanced risk of severe weather for northern Mississippi, starting this afternoon and lasting through the evening, according to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.
An additional round of severe weather is forecasted for Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning, with residents advised to stay weather-aware. The agency warns that the region could experience severe storms, damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph, hail, and tornadoes.
Mississippi residents are urged to have multiple ways to receive alerts, know their safe places, and stay informed through local meteorologists for the latest updates on the forecast, officials said.
