Mississippi encourages community litter prevention efforts
Mississippi officials emphasize that addressing problems before they arise can help maintain healthy communities and waterways. Just as preparedness reduces disaster impacts, simple actions such as picking up litter can prevent larger issues.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) supports the work of First Lady Elee Reeves and the Mississippi Litter Prevention Task Force. They encourage residents to participate by picking up one piece of litter to help keep the state clean.
Community members are invited to join the effort with the hashtags #PickItUpMississippi, #OnePieceAtATime, and #PreparedMississippi. Small individual actions can contribute to a cleaner, more beautiful Mississippi.
