Mississippi officials thanked President Donald Trump for quickly approving a federal emergency declaration to provide assistance during ongoing winter storms.
The state has experienced extensive freezing in its northern regions, with a second wave expected to impact central and southwestern areas this evening, officials said.
Authorities urged residents to stay safe as more severe weather is anticipated. Officials also acknowledged the president’s prompt response to the emergency needs of the state.
