Mississippi refunds more than $1.09 million to taxpayers in fiscal 2026

The Mississippi Office of the State Auditor announced that it returned $1,096,510.88 to taxpayers during fiscal year 2026.

The office said it will continue to serve as the state’s watchdog, uncovering waste, fraud, and abuse wherever it is found.

Officials emphasized their commitment to financial accountability and transparency as they monitor government funds and prevent misuse.
