Northeast Mississippi Community College highlights student Kaitlynn Bass

Kaitlynn Bass began her journey with Northeast Mississippi Community College Adult Education in August 2025 at the Corinth Adult Education Center, according to college officials. She initially enrolled in Mrs. Deanne Droke’s Smart Start class and completed the program in four weeks.

Encouraged by her success, Bass continued her education with the goal of earning a High School Equivalency diploma. In September 2025, she also enrolled in the WIOA Gateway Youth Program and secured a paid internship with Kennedy Tax Service.

During her internship, Bass discovered a passion for office work, working with numbers, and serving others. She plans to enroll at NEMCC this fall to pursue a degree in psychology. Her motivation stems from a desire to help young people navigate life’s challenges and overcome obstacles.

Inspired by her own experiences, Bass hopes to become an advocate and mentor for youth. College officials praised her determination and heart for helping others and said they look forward to her future accomplishments.
